Dashboards and graphical information presentation

Xcelsius can be used to create attractive information dashboards for you or your customers, or to make interactive models.

This example is based on 2001 census data for London. It uses an extension to the standard Xcelsius toolkit that allows any graphical image to be converted into a clickable map.

In this case the map came from Wikipedia - it is still a bit rough and I will clean it up sometime. Rolling the mouse pointer over the map displays the name of the relevant Borough, and clicking on one will display that Borough's demographic data. The drop-down selector can be used to select male or female population numbers. You can also click the link button to go to the National Statistics page from which the data was pulled.

In this case we are unable to use PowerPoint to display the dashboard since the map component called within the dash board is barred by security settings designed to protect users from malevolent use of such means of sneaking files onto PCs by the evil-doers.
